A rare cloisonné enamel incense burnerKangxiThe bombé-form censer decorated to the exterior with scrolling lotus flower head meander, all on a turquoise ground, flanked with intricate lion head handles, replaced baseplate; together with three gilt-bronze Buddhist implements. 18cm (7 1/8in) wide (4).注脚The present lot is part of a series of cloisonné wares that Brinker and Lutz definitively date to the Kangxi period. As a group they exhibit a revival of the 15th century decorative style and are unusual in the thickness of the enamels and the application of the blue-green base colour to all the cells. Compare the present lot with plates 202, 203 & 205, including a tripod incense burner, Kangxi mark and of the period, in Chinese Cloisonné: The Pierre Uldry Collection, London 1989.
