Description: A FINE LARGE CHINESE CARVED 'PEONY' LONGQUAN CELADON BARBED-RIM CHARGER Stoutly potted with gently rounded sides terminating with a wide bracket-lobed mouth rim. The central interior decorated in sgraffito, carved with a large peony blossom growing on a stem, the lobed sides with upright floral sprays radiating around cavetto, before a key fret band on the broad rim. The conforming exterior with further floral sprays radiating around the low foot ring, covered with a olive-celadon glaze, the underside base with an unglazed circle burnt orange in the firing. Prob.
