铭文：“仿宋玉兔朝元砚” |说明：此砚成圆盘形，砚池和砚堂合为一体，砚堂平整，砚背正中雕刻“玉兔朝元”图案：一轮明月高悬，一卧兔作回首望月状，玉兔浑圆，月盈皎洁。砚背周缘刻环形楷书乾隆御题砚铭，砚首壁侧刻：“仿宋玉兔朝元砚”。“玉兔朝元”砚台仿自宋代歙石“玉兔朝元”之砚，为清朝皇帝最喜欢仿制的六种古砚式之一。|附拓片。
