题识：世情时于古有合，天事亦随人自为。子贞何绍基。||钤印：何绍基印、子贞 |说明：何绍基，字子贞，号东州，晚号蝯叟。湖南道州（今道县）人。道光十六年（1836）进士，官编修。工经术词章，尤精说文考订之学，旁及金石碑版文字。书法自成一家，草书尤为一代之冠。晚年以篆、隶法写兰竹石，寥寥数笔，金石书卷之气盎然。偶作山水，不屑摹仿形似，随意挥毫，取境荒寒，得石涛晚年神髓。||备注：原装旧裱
