An Edwardian silver Arts and Crafts silver shoe horn,
Birmingham 1902, maker's mark partially lost in repair, &CR, possibly for Ramsden and Carr,
tapering form, chased decoration, the tapering handle with lattice decoration, length 24.5cm, approx. weight 3.4oz.
It is very unusual for a Ramsden and Carr item to be Birmingham hall marked rather than London marked. A squeeze action tobacco box was sold in these rooms, 27 October 2010, lot 1144, which was marked for Birmingham 1914, and had the maker's mark obliterated and Ramsden and Carr's mark over struck.
