Height: 18 7/8" Diameter: 15 3/8" Stand Height: 2 3/4" Diameter: 9 7/8" The Chinese Qing Dynasty porcelain vase delicately potted in a globular body with round shoulder further to cylindrical tall neck with flat opening, raised on flat base. The exterior decorated with hand painting of writhing dragon soaring amidst lotus scrolling tendrils and flames. Banded with fruiting floral ribbon on the rim. The shape is uniformly proportioned. The porcelain conformed all required specimen to be high valued Chinese porcelain Imperial wares, with finest material, the whiteness, the glaze, the painting, and the shape. Without overlap the outlines of the design, well drawn, clear, subtle, and distinct. The clay is fine and exquisite, the glaze smooth, brilliant with a moist appearance, the finishing meticulous. Elegantly displayed upon a carved hardwood stand. Yongzheng six characters reign mark and double fine rings in underglaze blue, Qing Dynasty.PROVENANCE: Private collections of John Platts (1905-1985), second son Geoffrey Platts, of Glen Cove, Long Island, NY.Glen Cove New York is on the North Shore of Long Island and was the summer resort of the rich and famous.
