Sturdy porcelain jar with robust shoulder region curving into a feminine waist that extends all the way to the bottom forming the raised circular base. The exterior is encapsulated in a blue glaze where several large gold fish are pictured. The foot rim reveals the cut edges during the making process, and the base left unglazed with grayish creme-brown ground and dark spots of firing marks. A Shendetang mark is noted on the bottom of this beautiful vase, with four red underglazed script -KaiShu- characters.
