提要：此书首有郭振墉序，末有郭绰莹跋，版心下镌“清闻山馆藏板”。知为郭氏家刻之物，流传颇罕。《一士类稿》云：“湘军之兴，郭嵩焘、昆焘兄弟，均参谋议。《湘军志》成，两人阅后，各加批识，以纠辨为多。乙卯(民国四年)，昆焘、孙振墉辑录成帙，并加笺注，名曰《湘军志平议》，堪为读《湘军志》者之重要参考书。”郭振墉(1870―1943)名本尧，字振墉，号涵斋，湖南湘阴人。光绪二十七年举人，授内阁中书。著有《湘军志平议》。
