A RARE Chinese Qing Dynasty SanCai YuHuChun porcelain pear vase. Substantial rotund body with rounded shoulders converging into a short neck, with a slightly concave foot base. The exterior around body delicately decorated in variegate shades and tones in underglazed copper-red depicted a five-claws dragon striding within Quatre-foil lobed cartouche, interspressed by dense Li-Shui wave and flames, filled by SanCai glaze coloration. The neck encircled by upright plantain leaves, above borders of double red thin rings and three more increase the shoulder. Dragons represent the Emperor and imperial household. The clay is fine and exquisite, the glaze smooth, brilliant with a moist appearance, the finishing meticulous. Mark on base, a vertical six blue underglazed script -KaiShu- characters, LongQing Reign Period of Great Ming Dynasty. Dimensions: 13-3/8" H x 8-1/4" Diam.
