Flanked with curved spout and looped handle with thumbpiece, in organic plum branch shape. The lid rim carved with arrays of upturning Fu bats motif. The body carved with lettering inscriptions. Covered overall in olive-brown underglaze, with lighter creme speckles. The lid fitted perfectly unto gallery mouth without any gap. Incised makers seal Mark on under base. A Bat is a Chinese symbol of Fu or good luck.
