A gold earring comprising a crescent plaque and hoop with hook-and-eye closure, rosettes to the ends above granulated collars, bands of filigree hoops and swirls with granule detailing. See Marshall, F.H. Catalogue of the Jewellery, Greek, Etruscan and Roman, in the Department of Antiquities, British Museum, London, 1911, item 1652 for type. 3.42 grams, 46mm (2"). Property of a Mayfair lady; formerly in an important London collection formed since 1965. Fine condition.
