5th-6th century AD. A silver ring comprising a cusped D-section hoop with pellets to the shoulders, discoid bezel with male and female facing busts, starburst above 'XAPIC' legend below (Kharis"). The Alice and Louis Koch Collection, volume I, Leeds, 1994, item 521. 5.47 grams, 22.04mm overall, 16.51mm internal diameter (approximate size British K1/2, USA 5 1/2, Europe 10.58, Japan 10) (1"). From the collection of a European gentleman living in South London; acquired 1970-1980. Fine condition.
