A Khmer gilt-bronze figure of Buddha seated on a lotus throne; hair pulled up into a top knot, elongated ears and urna to the centre of the forehead; robes engraved to the body, left hand resting in lap and right hand over the right knee in the Bhumisparsha, or 'Calling the Earth to Witness' posture; socket to the back for separate nimbus. 677 grams, 14cm (5 1/2"). Ex South London collection; acquired in the late 1990s. Fine condition.
