Early 20th century AD. A Sanderson second model pattern 1907 bayonet of World War I period with fullered blade, steel hilt with locking latch and wood scales, the quillon with rifle muzzle aperture, with crown over GR mark, 1907 stamp and other marks to the each side of the blade below the quillon; with the original sewn leather scabbard fitted with metal throat and chape. See Wilkinson-Latham R. J., Swords and Bayonets, 1973, fig.267. 712 grams, 57cm (22 1/2"). Property of an Essex lady; formerly in a private collection since the 1980s. [No Reserve] Fine condition.
