A bronze radiate-headed bow brooch comprising: a D-shaped headplate with three radiating collared knops, shallow bow with incised geometric detailing, footplate shaped a contemporary strap end with chamfered sides; pin-lugs and ferrous pin to the reverse. See Heynowski, R. Bestimmungsbuch Archaeologie: Fibeln, Munich, 2012, item 3.24.3.1 for type. 15 grams, 69mm (2 3/4"). Property of a Hertfordshire gentleman; part of his collection formed between 1973-2014. Very fine condition.
