10th-11th century AD. A gilt-bronze triangular harness mount with pierced suspension lug, reserved border and profile beast. Cf. Wilson, D.M. Catalogue of Antiquities of the Later Saxon Period, Volume I: Anglo-Saxon Metalwork 700-1100 in the British Museum, London, 1964, item 149 for type. 4.07 grams, 30mm (1 1/4"). Found near Ragby, Lincolnshire, UK. Fine condition.
