Chinese upright wooden jewelry box with jade inserts of animal and plant shapes in front doors, sides, and front of bottom drawer. Bronze fittings, with trefoil vertices or in endless knot form. Carrying handle on top. Bottom drawer and four inside drawers are lined with green brocade. Dimensions are: 12 1/4 inches high X 7 3/4 inches long X 5 1/2 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Wood has warped, particularly drawers; front left door has a split in wood in top left; jade inserts in front have cracked diagonally near top half of motif. Metal fittings slightly brittle and warped.
