(4) Beulah Brown a.k.a. Beulah Elizabeth Hazelrigg Brown, (American, 1892 â 1987), watercolor on paper paintings dating from the 20th century, each depicting a still life composition with flower bouquets which include: sunflowers, lilacs and other flowers; each piece signed on the face by the artist. The largest of these works is noted on verso, 'Prize Indiana State Fair'. Dimensions are: largest paper - 19 3/4 inches tall X 23 3/4 inches wide, smallest - 12 inches tall X 9 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Artist Biography: Beulah Brown a.k.a. Beulah Elizabeth Hazelrigg Brown, (American, 1892 â 1987), is a painter, designer and teacher who was part of the âGroup of Twelveâ. The âGroup of Twelveâ included contemporary, female artists from Indiana. The Group was known for their ability to create works which blended physical, intellectual and emotional intensity and included artists Betsy Stirratt, Charlene Marsh, Karen Thompson and Bonnie Sklarski. Brown studied at the John Herron Art Institute and was taught by William Forsyth. At this time, she met and married fellow artist Francis Focer Brown. The couple taught art in New Richmond and
