THREE PAINTED WOOD SCULPTURES OF BUDDHAMing dynasty100 cm high eachThe three figures seated on a lotus flower pedestal in the padmasana position, one with the hands in dyanamudra, the other two respectively with the right and the left hands in karanamudra and the other hand lying down with the open palm, the three Buddha wearing a long wide robe laced just below the partially exposed chest, the faces carved with a meditative and serene expression with a tiny urna in the forehead and the hair arranged in curls around a domed usnisa, the three sculptures painted and lacquered in naturalistic tones, to the back of each a niche.Provenance: ambassador and plenipotentiary ministry Francesco Rausi.
