λ A fine late 18th century Russian walrus ivory sewing box, with finely reticulated panels to imitate lace, with relief carved ribbon tied swags of flowers and beaded borders, the hinged lid centred with a horn of plenty, the symbol of harvest, revealing a velvet lined interior, with a hinged mirror to the underside of the lid, with a lift-off panelled lid revealing divisions with sewing utensils above a base drawer fitted with cotton reels and table reels, on ball feet, Archangel, 15.6cm high, 26.7cm wide, 19.1cm deep.
