Very appealing 4 x 6.5 cabinet portrait of Charles Dickens in a full-length pose, showing the adored scribe standing at his desk and holding a top hat, flanked by a chair and desk with books and scattered sheets. Unsigned and published by J. Gurney & Son of New York during Dickens's second tour of the United States in 1867. Reverse bears collector's notations and an ownership stamp.
