Wonderful matte-finish 3.5 x 5.25 postcard photo of Mistral seated, smoking, and petting his dog, signed in the lower border in black ink, "F. Mistral." Collector's notations on reverse indicate that the signature was obtained in Arles on May 7, 1908. In fine condition, with a light crease to the upper background. Mistral received the 1904 Nobel Prize in Literature 'in recognition of the fresh originality and true inspiration of his poetic production, which faithfully reflects the natural scenery and native spirit of his people, and, in addition, his significant work as a Provençal philologist.'Format: Signed Photo
