The vase is composed of three sections - the body is decorated with four pierced medallions enclosing peony, pomegranate, prunus, and roses, all on a yellow sgraffiato ground of lotus sprays. The collar and the lower rim of the neck section are encircled with the Twelve Heavenly Stems and the Twelve Earthly Branches.
