The bowls are decorated to the exterior with four roundels enclosing the characters 'fu', 'lu', 'shou', and 'xi', each surrounded by five bats and ruyi heads, all on a brocade ground between two bands of ruyi heads. The interior is decorated with a multitude of gourds on leafy vines.
