此瓶作盘口直颈，溜肩腹微鼓，足上收，线条敦厚俊美，形如棒槌故名之，为康熙时期标准样式。通体施以五彩，从瓶口至器物底部画工繁密，层层递进，交叉细致。器物腹部一面绘有开光赤壁赋诗意图，一叶扁舟闲散与赤壁山水之间，两岸松林掩映、群山迭嶂。另一面则写有楷书《前赤壁赋》诗句，字体工整，排版到位。整件器物完整，釉色白中闪。
