Ca.900- 1100 AD. A fabulous Viking silver cast penannular brooch (fibula) with triskele decoration, This style incorporates the penannular style and enlarges the terminals, expanding them into long, isosceles triangle-shaped plates with their second longest faces lying against each other. Two have loops projecting from their sides at regular intervals, and each has a pin wrapped around its ring. The loops would have been used to attach decorative chains which would have had dangling beads at their ends. Fine Condition; H:57mm/W:30mm; 10gr; Provenance: Property of a London gallery, previously in old British collection formed in the 1980s.All Items sold by Pax Romana Auctions come with professional Certificate of Authenticity.
