Ca.900-1100 AD. Amazing Viking Era cast bronze penannular brooch (fibulae) of the style known as Mordvinian, with granulated surfaces. This style incorporates the penannular style and enlarges the terminals, expanding them into long, isosceles triangle plates with their second longest faces lying against each other. Both have a pin wrapped around their rings and raised dots decorating their faces. Good Condition; H:65mm/W:40mm; 2.36-1.57 in; 14.5gr; Provenance: Private London collection, formed in the 1990s on the UK and European art market.
