An Extremely Rare Chinese Carved White Jade Bracket Lobbed Screen with Zitan Wood Frog StandThe dodecagonal-lobbed plaque incised with four various floral patterns in four directions on one side, and four square shaped marks on the other side, centered by a symbol of ‘Shou’, fitted zitan wood stand carved with Liuhai and frog , slight rubbing and wear. The stone of even white color and delicate texture. With a similar and intact example also found in the Palace Museum Beijing, Jadeware of Ming and Qing , which is described as a set of white jade calendar plaque of twelve florals, comprising of thirteen white jade plaques with a dodecagonal plaque in the middle as the stamen encircled by another twelve bell-shaped plaques as the petals that variously carved with their respective month of flower. Assumed the present lot is an example of the middle stamen but with other twelve plaques missing. Through illustrating month of the twelve florals conveying the wish for ‘ Peace and fascination’.
