4th-3rd millennium BC. A Predynastic terracotta juglet with conical foot, narrow mouth with strap handle to the rear, traces of red slip to the surface. 127 grams, 94mm (3 3/4"). Property of a North London gentleman; previously in a old English private collection, found Jericho; accompanied with a old 1940s collectors label. Pieces of this type were found in the tombs of the first Pharaohs at Abydos. [No Reserve]
