9th-11th century AD. A mixed group of three iron firesteels comprising: one elliptical with two openwork heart motifs to the centre; one rectangular with openwork meander fill to the centre, pierced through one end; one with gently curved square-section bar, loop to one end, decorative upper face with meander fill. 114 grams total, 6-13cm (2 1/2 - 5").
