A silver whistle with dense foliage swirls, segmented top with loop, bevelled mouth with hallmarks of an anchor (Birmingham), lion passant and lower case blackletter 'x' (1897) and maker's mark 'H.W.A.' for H W Ashford or Hylton Street, Birmingham. 4.8 grams, 40mm (1 1/2"). From an old North Country collection; formed between 1970-2000.
