道光 官釉貫耳尊An Imperial Chinese guan glazed porcelain vase with a 6-character Daoguang mark and of the period. There are 2 peach-shaped raised motifs on the front and back and 2 handles at the neck. Of archaic bronze form, the pear-shaped body subtly molded with a raised panel on each side, rising from a short slightly splayed foot to a quatrefoil rim, set with a pair of rectangular handles, applied overall with a pale greyish blue glaze finely streaked with a random matrix of dark gray and pale brown crackle and stopping neatly above the foot to reveal the grayish-brown body; the interior and the recessed base are glazed and have a six-character Daoguang seal mark in a blue underglaze. Dimensions are: 12 inches tall X 7 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: There is a miniscule chip in the rim, overall good condition. Provenance: From Mrs. VanMayr in Arizona, by descent from her grandparents, who collected this piece in the early 1900s.
