The exterior of the bowl on both sides is delicately carved in high relief with flying Apsara, or Feitian, shown wearing long celestial scarf and holding a peach amid the auspicious clouds. The face of the Aspara is shown with a benevolent expression and hair pulled into chignon detailed with incised lines. The bowl is supported by spreading pedestal foot ring. The gilt-bronze cover is cast in openwork with similar motif of auspicious clouds and celestial Aspara and the dome topped with a high-relief Aspara as finial.
