此圖情味雋永，盖出於明四家，而文仇之意尤多，良足歡賞，天鶴先生出示索題。謝稚柳。丙申（1956）三月，定定館燈下。

註：嘉道年間，吳門畫壇以劉彥沖畫名為盛，惜「中歲遽沒」，畫跡傳世甚罕，斷縑尺楮，人咸寶之。以梅景書屋收藏之富，倩盫卻偏愛泳之，嘗有「百年來畫壇領袖即戴醇士與劉彥沖」之論，其畫藝之高，畫格之雅，可想見矣！本幅構圖採一河兩岸式，遠山如翠，近岸則樹木繁茂，岸邊坡石綠茵，皴擦點染，細膩有度。溪中一亭，二高士憑欄對坐，相與言歡。全幅筆意疏秀淨雅，設色麗而脫俗，謝稚柳裱邊所跋「情味雋永，盖出於明四家，而文仇之意尤多」，實乃公允之論。
