A George IV 18ct gold consular cased pocket watch by John Skinner of Exeter, No. 2538, the gold dial with engine turned dial centre, raised Roman numerals within chiselled three gold trailing leaf borders and gold hands, the lever movement with bi-metallic balance with diamond endstone, plain cock and with "gun barrel" pillars, contained in 18ct gold consular case with engine turned back and edges and chiselled leaf and floral mounts to edges, 44mm diameter, hallmarked London 1825, with case maker's mark "W.M" (William Mordan, 3 Berkeley Street, London), (gross weight 88.9 grammes) Note: John Skinner (son of John) recorded working as a watchmaker in Exeter from 1818
