Parker', raised on a polished stone plinth base 62 x 46cm (24 x 18in) Other Notes: An accomplished horsewoman and breeder of American Quarter Horses, Gill Parker's subject matter ranges from equestrian subjects to wildlife, big game, family pets and historical figures. Parker's first works were bought by Garrards and Asprey and in 1984, she held her inaugural one-woman show at the Sladmore Gallery. Amongst her major commissions is the life-size bronze statue of Motivator at Ascot racecourse. She received the President's Medal at the Society of Equestrian Artists and her work is widely collected and sought after. Edward of Woodstock, known as the Black Prince (1330 - 1376), was the eldest son of Edward III. He was one of the most successful commanders during the Hundred Years War, a model of chivalry and a great knight. He died before his father, (his son, Richard II, became King in 1377).
