2nd-4th century AD. A bronze mount bust of Jupiter (Greek Zeus) with bare chest, bearded and with vine-leaf wreath to the temples and tying cords draped to the left shoulder; hollow to the reverse. Cf. Rolland, H. Bronzes Antiques de Haute Provence, Paris, 1965, item 11. 33.9 grams, 41.2mm (1 1/2"). Property of a Dutch gentleman; formerly in an old collection formed in the 1970s. [No Reserve]
