12th-8th century BC. A bronze bracelet with flat section band, terminals formed as recumbent quadrupeds, accompanied by a typed and signed note by the late W.G. Lambert, Professor of Assyriology at the University of Birmingham, 1970-1993, which states: 'Bronze Bracelet, 68 x 79mm. This consists of an open hoop with linear decoration on its outside: a central band of criss-cross between a zig-zagging double band each side merging into chevrons at each end. The two ends offer recumbent quadrupeds in the round: the front parts of the bodies larger than the back parts: heads raised and mouths open, tails rising over backs to necks (one broken"). This comes from west central Asia or Iran and dates to c. 1200-800 B.C. It is a rare item and in good condition save for one spot of damage to the hoop, and the broken tail.' 39 grams, 78mm (3").
