A limestone cylinder seal with pastoral scene and eagle, three goats walking to the right, led by a strong, bald-headed man in a short flounced skirt, holding a lyre in his left hand, an eagle in frontal view with outstretched wings above, flanked by two other caprids, horror vacui. 6.64 grams, 25mm (1"). Property of a London lady, part of her family's Swiss collection; formerly acquired in the 1980s. Accompanied by a museum-quality impression. [No Reserve]
