1st-3rd century AD. A bronze stamp seal comprising a square base and balustered shank with pierced lug, intaglio Palmyrene(?) or Nabataean inscription. 6.8 grams, 28mm (1"). Property of a London gentleman; acquired in the 1970s; accompanied by a handwritten, unsigned scholarly note issued by W.G. Lambert, late Professor of Assyriology at the University of Birmingham 1970-1993. Accompanied by a museum-quality impression.
