Mainly Neolithic, 5000-2000 years BP. A mixed group of flint tools each with accompanying label comprising: scraper with label 'Small scraper from Highdown Gardens. Found by R. Kerridge in January 1978'; similar with label 'Highdown Gardens. Found by Ron Kerridge in 1990'; scraper with label 'Kithurst Hill. Found by Frank Bridle 1958'; two similar with labels 'Kithurst Hill' and 'Found by Frank Bridle in the 1970s'; scraper with label 'High Salvington' and 'Found by Albert Bing in May 1968'; similar with label 'Found by Ron Kerridge at the side of the footpath in the 1990s'; similar with label 'Found by Albert Bing, 1970'. 99 grams total, 32-56mm (1 1/4 - 2 1/4"). From the private collection of Ronald G.P. Kerridge (d. 2013), Sussex historian, author, and archaeologist; found Kithurst Hill and High Salvington, West Sussex, UK, by Ronald Kerridge, Albert Bing, and Frank Bridle in the late 1950s to 1990s; all accompanied by dated collector's labels.
