2nd millennium BC. A carnelian dome-shaped stamp seal engraved to the underside with a series of engraved lines forming a geometric pattern. 51 grams, 35mm (1 1/2"). Property of a North London lady; gifted from her father's collection; formerly with a Mayfair gallery, London, UK; previously acquired in the 1980s. Dr Bonewitz notes: 'Very fine dark carnelian, very thick piece.' Accompanied by a museum-quality impression.
