In seiner Werkstatt beschränkte er sich nicht nur auf die Anfertigung der Uhrwerke, sondern entwarf viele seiner Uhrmodelle selbst. Davon zeugen noch heute etliche erhaltene Entwurfszeichnungen im Cabinet des Estampes der Bibliothèque Nationale in Paris.
