mineral pigments on primed fabric, rubbed, traces of old age
In Mahayana Buddhism, "Avalokiteshvara" is the bodhisattva of universal compassion.
Above there is a picture of the Buddha "Amithaba", flanked by two Lama. The bottom row shows "Jambhala" (God of Wealth) and the Bodhisattva "Tara", which is considered a female manifestation of enlightened wisdom. "Tara" is said to have originated from a tear of "Avalokiteshvara".
