As we move from one panel to the next, an intricate network of repetition appears whose complexity is characteristic of the very computer technology that inspires her work. In the first still life, the phone is not 'real' but a photograph. Actually, it is not a photograph at all but a painted reproduction of one. Minter continues to play with perceived reality in the second painting by inserting the entire composition of 'Phone #1' in the 'photograph' on the table. This double image itself then reappears unaltered in the snapshot within the third work. Viewing Minter's series is like looking at yourself in a mirror with another mirror behind you, the ever deepening repetition could go on indefinitely. HID03101242017
