Stunning, Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, Qianlong famille jaune ground famille rose wrapped floral dragon porcelain vase. The porcelain potted in bottle form, spherical body, with wide ovoid belly, thick, shoulder tapering to straight neck, sturdily potted in a baluster jar, with tall cylindrical stick neck, with thick rings close rim, raised on short cylindrical slightly round, with concave foot base. All reserved in famille jaune underglaze base color which contrast against the famille rose design color. Famille Jaune meaning the "yellow family". This is a variant of the famille verte enamel palette in which the ground is covered with yellow enamel. Yellow in Chinese it is called Huang You. The yellow comes from the ferric oxide in the reducing atmosphere. Its first appearance was in the Tang Dynasty.
