bronze dial with a wide foliage rosette pierced, white enamelled cartouches, blackened steel Roman numerals for the hours and hands, the bell movement at the passage of the hours and half, the 12-hour cartouche signed F. Barbedienne/à Paris. It surmounts a lyre decorated with eagle heads, laurel branches and fruit garlands. All inscribed in a glass box, the border with heartbeat or pearl mouldings, the uprights decorated with goat heads and leafed consoles surmounted by Turkish vases. At the top, a large escutcheon framed by leafy and flowery garlands. At the base is a rectangular medallion surrounded by pearls decorated with a group of putti that can be found around the bobèches of the two torches. It rests on four spinning tops. Contresocle in red marble with pearl frieze.
