Li Keran (March 26, 1907-December 5, 1989), native of Xuzhou, Jiangsu. Distinguished painter, poet and disciple of painter Qi Baishi in modern China. Li Keran has been painting since he was young, and he learned to paint landscapes when he was 13 years old. He was a professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts at the age of 43 and traveled for tens of thousands of miles to paint landscape painting at the age of 49. At the age of 72, he was the vice chairman of the Chinese Artists Association and the president of the Chinese Painting Research Institute. In his later years, he tended to be spicy with a pen.
