朝冠即为君臣上朝时所戴之冠。这件夏朝冠形作圆锥，下檐外敞呈双层喇叭状。用玉草或藤丝、竹丝做成，外裱以罗，在两层喇叭口上镶石青色织金边饰。以红纱为里，外层缀朱纬，内层安帽圈，圈上缀带。冠前缀珍珠。银鎏金簪花帽顶中饰东珠，上嵌红宝石作为官阶的等级区分。此朝冠帽，设计巧妙，做工精细，可谓匠心独具，为一品官职所用。参照：《皇朝礼器图式》卷五“冠服” ，第二十一页。
