此件铜炉熔铸规整，薄唇对铸如月，双冲耳，微束颈，浅身扁鼓腹，下承三乳足，形制敦厚沉稳之中又不失玲珑精巧，包浆醇厚古朴，古意盎然，底款“大明宣德年制”，笔力遒劲，剔刻利落干净，使整器在端庄典雅之间更富精气神。其用料精良，入手沉重厚实，通体光素，气息朴茂苍拙，轻叩炉身其声清越绵长，饱含久经风韵。
